A delay of game penalty and internet infamy apparently were considered enough punishment for frustrated Washington Redskins wide receiver Pierre Garcon.
The NFL decided not to fine Garcon for kicking the ball across the end zone after an incompletion in the third quarter of Sunday's loss to the New York Giants.
"Losing is hard to deal with," Garcon said later. "I'm disappointed we're out of the playoffs. We play for the playoffs. It's disappointing."
Garcon had a season-high nine catches for 61 yards in the game. But Giants safety Will Hill stripped Garcon of the football to halt the final drive for the Redskins, who fell to 3-9.
Asked later why he kicked the football, Garcon said, "Because we didn't score a touchdown. We spotted 75 yards and didn't score a touchdown. I punted it harder."
