Will Havard Rugland unseat David Akers the second time around? (USATSI)

Lions kicker David Akers has struggled this season, ranking near the bottom of the league in field goal percentage (75.0 percent).

He was bad again last week, missing a 31-yarder in the eventual Lions victory. As such, it wouldn't have been surprising to see the organization bring in kickers this week to try them out and see if any could replace Akers.

Like a YouTube sensation nicknamed Kickalicious.

Had a workout with Detroit Lions this morning. Thankful for the opportunity. I appreciate all the support I get from you guys on twitter!!

— Håvard Rugland (@MrRugland) December 2, 2013Yep, that's Havard Rugland, who played for the Lions in the preseason and made all three kicks he was given (from 33, 49 and 50 yards). Ultimately, he was cut in favor of Akers, and after failing in a bid to unseat Packers kickers Mason Crosby, Rugland hasn't played for anybody this season.

On Tuesday, he got a second chance with the Lions.

Still, Akers' impending release is no sure bet. This is what coach Jim Schwartz said after the Lions win last week.

"I told him after halftime that if we need a game-winner, we're going to put him right back up," Schwartz said, via CBS Detroit. "We're not going to be going for it on fourth down. I think he just tried to baby that one a little bit. You watch his next extra point, he stepped it, he drilled it. He bounced back."

But, there's always the new guy. And in case you've forgotten the power (and charisma) of the one they call Kickalicious, here's a reminder of his unique skill set.
